Make access secure, consistent and manageable
Align identities, applications, devices and security controls across Microsoft cloud and hybrid environments.
Start with the access paths that matter
Users, administrators, applications and services all need different forms of access. We help document those paths and design controls that support legitimate work while reducing unnecessary privilege and unmanaged dependencies.
Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory
Review directory architecture, synchronization, authentication and administrative responsibilities. Address hybrid identity dependencies, account lifecycle, naming consistency and the effect of directory changes on connected services.
Plan modernization with attention to service accounts, legacy authentication and business applications that depend on the existing environment.
Application identity and SSO
Assess application authentication and provisioning across SAML, OIDC, OAuth and SCIM where applicable. Identify ownership, configuration dependencies, testing requirements and rollback needs before changing identity providers or application access.
For migrations, separate inventory and planning from implementation and production cutover.
Conditional Access, MFA and device access
Design access policies around users, applications, devices and risk requirements. Plan staged rollout, testing and exception handling so policy changes can be evaluated before broad enforcement.
Administrative access, recovery access and user onboarding should be considered together with the normal sign-in experience.
Enterprise PKI and certificate automation
Assess and design the private PKI: the certificate authority hierarchy, key protection, templates and enrollment permissions, revocation publication and trust distribution. Support Active Directory Certificate Services architecture and certificate use cases such as server authentication, LDAPS, web services, Wi-Fi and VPN network access, and device certificates delivered through Microsoft Intune or Microsoft Cloud PKI.
Publicly trusted TLS certificates now have shorter lives (200 days from March 2026, falling to 47 days by 2029), so manual renewal becomes an operational risk. Connect PKI design with automation for inventory, renewal, deployment, validation and reporting.
Security configuration and remediation
Review agreed Microsoft security and management controls, including Defender and endpoint security integrations where relevant. Investigate configuration gaps, prioritize remediation and document ownership of exceptions.
Security architecture engagements can also address least-privilege access for automation and AI tools, audit trails and approval boundaries.
Deliverables
- Identity and access architecture findings.
- Prioritized security improvements and a rollout plan.
- Configured policies, integrations or certificate services in scope.
- Test scenarios covering normal use, exceptions and recovery.
- Operational guidance and handover documentation.
Frequently asked questions
Can you review an existing deployment?
Yes. An engagement can focus on policy design, an authentication failure or a specific identity dependency.
Do you handle identity-provider migrations?
Yes. Planning, application assessment, staged migration and verification can be scoped as separate phases.
Is this a penetration-testing service?
The services described here focus on architecture, configuration and remediation. Any specialist security testing would need its own explicitly agreed scope.
