Wilkinson dividers

Overview

Equal or unequal power split, 1–4 sections, a tree of 3–16 outputs for arrays, resistors on the board.

From the simplest to the most complex: 1 section with an equal split, up to 4 sections or an unequal 2 : 1 split with a shield and three connectors, and a tree of up to 16 outputs with equalised phases.

Typical performance

• VSWR < 1.3 at every port over the design bandtypical
• Output loss −3.2…−3.5 dB, output isolation 18–25 dBtypical
• Band: 1 section ≈ 1.4 : 1 (≈ 35 %), 2 sections ≈ 2 : 1, 3–4 sections up to 3–4 : 1typical
